The show explores Dr John Hay's important role in the community on the Isle of Lewis
The story of a Buddie who gave up his life in Paisley to serve small island communities was showcased on the small screen.
The documentary, which is in Gaelic with English subtitles, explores Dr Hay’s role in the community and the way he impacted the lives of those living in the Western Isles. The dedicated team of experienced journalists, responsible for the publication of the award-winning Express, will focus on breaking news, day and night, across Renfrewshire’s towns and villages.
He captures the district of Uig and Bernera as it is now, in a series of portraits of people living and working there today, and also features contributions from members of the community who feature in Dr Hay’s films.The Buddie got an itch for travel and, after having qualified as a surgeon, he signed up for the Overseas Missionary Fellowship which saw him join his wife in travelling to Asia, mainly Thailand.
