From longleysunsport: Bassitt's brilliance saved by flash of power as Blue Jays avoid sweep BlueJays
It was a welcome barrage for an offence that had been all too quiet lately, getting shutout on Wednesday and scoring just one run in another loss on Tuesday.
He had already exited the game, but the late runs were some solid support for starter Chris Bassitt, who was as brilliant as the summer afternoon at an open-roofed Rogers Centre on Thursday, allowing just four hits over six shutout innings. Getting around on the offering from Padres reliever Luis Garcia, Guerrero slashed it on a line drive into the right-field visitor’s bullpen, much to the delight of the sun-soaked crowd. It was Guerrero’s third homer in six games since he was crowned Home Run Derby champ last week in Seattle.
