Barry Dunning, a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Alabama, committed Tuesday to the South Alabama basketball program.
“Going to McGill and playing at a program like that, you are always taught to go all out. I feel like coach Riley is the same in a way. I’m going in and showing some guys that we are going to put Mobile first. Put South first. Put the team first.”Dunning played in 15 games last year at UAB “I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. My mom is from Mobile. She went to South, too, so that’s really important to me as well. Playing for my hometown and playing for my city just means a lot, so I’m just really excited.”
“Barry has been through a journey his first two stops, and it’s good to see him coming back home,” McGill-Toolen coach Phillip Murphy told AL.com. “This will be a great fit for him. Just great to have our guy back in town. Go Jags!”
