Barnstormers: 20 long-hidden Ferraris found, headed for auction — via drivingdotca Vintage Collectible ClassicCars Ferrari

While deep-pocketed gearheads tend to demand a thorough history bumf when raising their bidding paddle for a Fezza, there isn’t a tremendous amount of detail about why these cars ended up in their present condition, though there seems to be no doubting the authenticity of the cars themselves.

How the machines initially came to be stuffed in a dilapidated barn is up for debate; after the place collapsed in 2004, it is reported someone moved the cars to a warehouse facility near Indianapolis, at which point they sat idle until being rediscovered not long ago. What’s on tap? The oldest car in the group is a thoroughly battered 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial Spider Series I, which records show was sold by Enzo himself and then pressed into racing duty, including stints with a factory driver behind the wheel. Another notable lot is a 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series II, described as one of the most unique examples ever constructed since just 36 right-hand-drive examples were ever produced.
