During his brief stay in the minor leagues with the Norfolk Tides, Holliday sharpened his skills at second base, where he's expected to feature defensively for Baltimore. Offensively, he continued to flash the bat that made his baseball's most highly regarded prospect. Holliday slashed .333/.482/.595 with two home runs and nine RBI in 10 games before his promotion on Tuesday evening.
Holliday is expected to join the Orioles at Fenway Park in Boston on Wednesday, where he could potentially make his MLB debut. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. EST. Holliday, the No. 1 pick in the 2022 MLB draft, featured in four different minor-league levels last season. In all, he made 125 appearances and logged 12 home runs, 75 RBI and a .941 OPS.
