You have to choose between Sovereign Spaw or Glut in Baldur's Gate 3, and this guide takes you through which route you should pick.
Should you choose to side with Glut, he’ll request that you. That means you must return to the Ebonlake Grotto and beat him in combat. I recommend you and your Baldur’s Gate 3 party are up to the task, but make sure to take a short or long rest before this encounter. This area is not too far from the Arcane Tower, and you can choose to prepare accordingly before the battle., none of the citizens will attempt to fight you. Instead, they’ll all remain peaceful. This will remain true.
You can return to Sovereign Spaw to tell him of what Glut was planning, and he will be thankful for you these actions. The choice to tell him is up to you, and you don’t receive an additional reward with your Baldur’s Gate 3 party.Having gone down both paths, I felt that siding with Sovereign Spaw and keeping the order of things was a better idea. Although Sovereign Glut does have a point, and, it wasn’t convincing enough to denounce the current king of the spores in my Baldur’s Gate 3 campaign.
Both encounters were not too difficult. The fight against Sovereign Spaw could get out of hand if his allies got to him, but I could take him out in the first round by using Eldritch Blast to shoot him off the edge of his throne. I will note that this decision does not appear to have a rippling effect by the time you reach Baldur’s Gate. While exploring the city with my Baldur’s Gate 3 party, I never noticed too many ramifications from mydidn’t see any references to Sovereign Glut or what could have been. Things might be different if Glut were in charge, but I don’t think there were too many people talking about it, so it may boil down to what rewards you want to receive from the respective Sovereigns.
