A non-profit that helps those in need in downtown Oshawa is able to continue running its acute care clinic thanks to a big chunk of funding from the province.

Mission United – the acute care clinic at the Back Door Mission – secured a one-year funding commitment of $1.1-million.

“Today’s [Thursday’s] announcement is incredibly significant and a step in the right direction,” said French. “Back Door Mission’s model of care through Mission United is exemplary and essential to building a healthy and caring community here in Oshawa. Organizations like this provide invaluable services, and should never face funding uncertainty.”
