The Office of the Attorney General has opened an investigation into suspected bias crimes in Manchester Township, which include swastikas spray painted on homes and a suspicious house fire.
One suspect is currently in custody, the office said. Officials have not released the person’s identity or said whether the person has been charged.“Random acts of hate designed to instill fear and to violate New Jerseyans’ sense of security and belonging, solely based on who they are and what they believe in, will be dealt with swiftly and harshly by law enforcement,” said New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin.
