Former Australian cricket captain, Ricky Ponting, is currently in hospital after falling ill.
The legendary batsman was commentating for the Seven Network on the Australia vs West Indies Test match on Friday when he began feeling unwell.After consulting with former Australian national team coach, Justin Langer, and a doctor in attendance at the Optus Stadium, Ponting was advised to go to Royal Perth Hospital as a precaution.
A spokesperson from Seven said, “Ricky Ponting is unwell and will not be providing commentary for the remainder of today’s coverage.” With that being said, Ponting is reportedly already feeling better and he is expected to leave hospital later today.
