Several people killed after passenger train and freight train collide in Greece
The region's governor said the collision was so violent that the first two carriages of the passenger train"are not visible".At least 16 people are reported to have been killed and dozens injured after two trains collided in Greece.
A passenger train travelling between Athens and the northern city of Thessaloniki collided with a freight train travelling from Thessaloniki to Larissa just before midnight.Police said several carriages came off the rails, with at least three of them catching fire. One young passenger told broadcaster SKAI TV:"There was panic in the carriage, people were screaming."A fire brigade spokesperson said that 16 people were killed and at least 85 were injured.
