ASU said the campus police chief will be placed on paid leave while the university reviews complaints made in relation to the protests last month.TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State University Police Chief Michael Thompson has been placed on leave as the university reviews complaints filed following the arrests of more than 70 people during recent protests on campus.
"The ASU Office of General Counsel is directing a review of actions surrounding the establishment and removal of an encampment on the Alumni Lawn. Upon completion of the review, ASU will provide an update on its findings," the spokesperson said. Pro-Palestinian protesters had started demonstrating earlier that day in front of Old Main.
