PETERSBURG, Fla. — As he rehabs from shoulder surgery, Michael Brantley continues getting hits in his minor league rehab assignment.
The left fielder went 1-for-4 with two RBI, including a bases-loaded single, Tuesday night with the Class AAA Sugar Land Space Cowboys in Reno, Nevada. He was removed after playing seven innings.He took Wednesday off, but is expected to be back in the lineup Thursday against Reno. “He came through it well,” Astros manager Dusty Baker said of Brantley’s second rehab appearance"… We’ll see how he feels today and hope he’s not too sore.”
Brantley hasn’t played in a big league game since last June and didn’t appear in a game during spring training as he continued his recovery from last summer's shoulder surgery.
