In his abbreviated rehabilitation appearance Sunday with Class AAA Sugar Land, five-time MLB All-Star outfielder Michael Brantley was searching to find the handle on his game in a variety of ways at Constellation Field.“I don’t want to get into details, but I don’t like it,” Brantley said. “It’s an adjustment. I’m a professional and I’ll figure it out.
Brantley singled and walked, but only swung the bat once among the 10 pitches he saw in the game won by Las Vegas, 4-3.After taking the first five pitches, he hit a soft liner to second. However, Las Vegas second baseman Zack Gelof raised his glove after fielding it and didn’t throw to first.Brantley drew a four-pitch walk in his second at-bat.“It was very uncomfortable, actually…the first time with the pitch clock,” he said.
“We want to bring him in kind of slowly,” Baker said. “I talked to him and said, ‘Hey man, don’t be in a hurry and don’t do too much.’
