Alex Bregman’s performance extended his season-long hitting streak to 10 games.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Cristian Javier pitches to Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani during the first inning of an MLB baseball game at Minute Maid Park on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Houston.Earlier this week, when Alex Bregman was asked the key behind his skyrocketing offensive production, the Astros’ third baseman simply referenced a tip given to him by manager Dusty Baker: “Think lucky.

In addition to notching his fifth career grand slam, Bregman matched his career high with four walks against the Angels. “Honestly, just trying to stick to the approach, swing at good pitches to hit,” Bregman said. “I got into, kind of, swing mode over the last three weeks. I was feeling a little bit better so started swinging a little bit more instead of swinging at good pitches. So now I’m trying to zone it back up, swing at strikes.”

“He's amazing,” McCormick said. “He gets like this, though. And even when he gets his little slump, he turns it on and he just never looks back. He just has a great approach, you know what I mean? Like, he's never over-swinging. He's always taking good pitches. That's what makes him elite. He has a great zone and he works really hard every day. It's fun to watch him.”
