Twitter users praised and roasted a tweet from The Associated Press about the Oscar after-party Monday morning that focused on Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh and Academy Award nominee Angela Ba…

“Vanity Fair’s annual post-Oscars party was full of moments of warmth and joy as Sunday night led into Monday morning after a drama-free Academy Awards, with stars embracing the celebration,” the new tweet read.

The account also explained, “The AP has deleted a previous tweet about the Oscars after party because it contained awkward wording and lacked context.”A version of the same sentence appeared as the opening paragraph to The Associated Press’ article on the after-party. “Michelle Yeoh and Angela Bassett locked in a long embrace, whispering and laughing with glee as nearly every phone in the vicinity came out to take photos,” the opening read.Sunday night by being the first woman of Asian descent to win the award for Best Actress. She won for her acclaimed role in the film “Everything Everywhere All At Once.”

Bassett was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” She lost the award to Jamie Lee Curtis, who also appeared in “Everything Everywhere All At Once.”
