The Anchorage Assembly is now scheduled to confirm newly-appointed Anchorage Police Chief Sean Case after Friday’s confirmation hearing was held at City Hall.

Friday’s meeting served as an opportunity for Case to field questions from the Assembly, much of which centered around his sense of APD’s relationship with the community and the importance of transparency.Case said while he largely sees the Anchorage community as being supportive, the relationship is not yet where he would ultimately like to see it.
Case also addressed the issue of former chief-designee Bianca Cross and her current status with the department. Cross had been captain of detectives prior to former Mayor Dave Bronson appointing her to chief, and Case confirmed that Cross has since returned to that position.
