“Even if it’s the wrong decision, if it’s a step forward, we’re going to learn and solve the problem,” South Anchorage representative Randy Sulte said. “ we realize it’s the wrong thing, we’ll adjust and adapt. But we’ve been studying this problem for three years and we are not getting anywhere.” Currently, there is no specific plan for where the roughly 400 individuals at the Sullivan Arena — as well as the individuals at the other two shelter locations — will go.“A lot of the job is going to be prioritizing what’s realistic for us to stand up, what can we do in the short term, and then looking at the funding, right?” Rivera said. “Are some of these options way too expensive?”
