She recently turned 77 and is still a regular in front rows and on red carpets, where she always stands out thanks to her effortless, androgynous style. Emanating Parisian energy, she was born in Britain but spent much of her early life in France, and adopts a less-is-more approach to her style and beauty routine. Rampling has also embraced getting older with characteristic equanimity and poise.
“I choose not to [feel anxiety about getting older],” she previously said. “I mean, you have to do it and I don’t want to have too much done to my face, so I’m ambivalent. I don’t spend time on it. I look at myself, I see the film, I say, ‘Oh yes, I look different there.’ But I only look different because I’m now in a different part of my life.” She has also said that sexiness is about having “a deep passion for life… It’s authentic, and that’s true of any age.
