All areas of Notts are under the national average
Research from the Office of National Statistics has determined the richest and poorest areas of Nottinghamshire. Data on employee earnings in the UK for 2022 has revealed the average weekly earnings for full time employees in England is £646, or an average £640 for full time employees across the United Kingdom.
The research calculates the median gross weekly earnings for full-time employees for each local authority by place of work, however, the data shows that all local authorities within Nottinghamshire are actually lower than the national average when it comes to the average weekly earnings of full time employees.
Full time employees are those who are working more than 30 paid hours per week or 25 or more for those working in the teaching professions. The minimum wage at the time the research was completed was £9.50 for employees aged 23 years and over, £9.18 for those aged 21 to 22 years and £6.83 for employees aged 18 to 20 years.
Mansfield has found itself comfortably in the middle, with full-time workers in the area earning £570 weekly during April 2022. Towards the other end of the scale, employees in Gedling and Ashfield working full time were paid £591 and £592 each week. Employees working in Broxtowe were able to earn a weekly average of £595, whereas those working full time in Rushcliffe were the closest to the national average, earning £623 each week on average.
