Lawyer Robert Costello is questioned during former U.S. President Donald Trump's criminal trial in Manhattan state court in New York City, May 20, 2024, in this courtroom sketch.
A few minutes later, both jurors and reporters were allowed back inside, and Merchan continued proceedings without addressing things with Costello any further. Costello's time on the witness stand continued without incident as he testified about his April 2018 meeting with Cohen. Costello said Cohen was acting "manic" at the meeting after the FBI raid and kept "pacing back and forth."
