Apple Watch Emergency SOS is the hero in the latest rescue story.
Imagine you go for a swim in a river nearby and then your foot gets stuck into the rocks... it's cold and you start freezing. Then, however, you remember you have your Apple Watch on your wrist and you can use it to call emergency services. Yes, that's actually what happened to a swimmer in the Columbia River, who used her Apple Watch to call emergency services and then got rescued from the cold water,On June 15, the woman was swimming in the Columbia River near The Dalles, Oregon.
At the time, there were continual rains in the area and the Columbia River was, according to the police,"extremely high", with water temperature around 56°F around 6:30 pm. That's the time when police showed up to help the swimmer. When using a ladder to reach the swimmer and trying to pry apart the rocks holding her foot didn't work, one brave policeman decided there was no time and he should get into the water to free her. And he did just that, saving her from freezing just in time.
As you probably know so far, this is not the only time when the Apple Watch has helped someone reach for help.
