Apple will implement its newest update, IOS 16, on Monday, complete with the ability to edit and unsend text messages.
With the update, first announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June and in the beta stage of development ever since, iPhone users will be able to edit an iMessage after sending it and unsend it, but other iPhone users may still see the unsent message if they haven't also downloaded the update.
Users will also be able to mark texts as unread after reading them, a feature similar to most email platforms.Android phones already have the capability to edit sent texts and mark them as unread but currently cannot unsend them. Apple's voice-to-text mode will also become more intuitive, automatically adding punctuation to texts dictated orally into the phone. This will apply to all phones newer than the iPhone 8 that have downloaded speech models in Cantonese, English, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish.
