Apple on Oct. 30 reported revenue rose 2% year-over-year to $64 billion in its fourth fiscal quarter, which ended on Sept. 28. Earnings were $13.7 billion, or $3.03 per diluted share, compared to $14.1 billion, or $2.91 per share in the same period last year.
On the same day, Facebook reported total revenue rose 29% year-over-year to $17.7 billion in the third quarter. Advertising revenue represented 98% of the top line. Net income increased 19% to $6.1 billion, or $2.12 a share, in the period. Separately, Facebook said that Susan Desmond-Hellmann is resigning as a member of the board of directors for personal reasons.
