Ontario’s former privacy commissioner is calling for a probe into the discovery of a hidden camera in the bedroom of a London Airbnb
“It’s outrageous. The police should investigate further, but I think also the privacy commissioner should investigate,” Cavoukian said. “There is undoubtedly a great deal of personally identifiable information that is captured by camera.”
London police, as well, said they have no access to information about past patrons who might have stayed at the Airbnb but they are continuing to investigate. Cavoukian said she is concerned there “is not a more thorough appreciation of these issues by the people who rent out these Airbnbs.”
