Antioch teen charged with murder in city’s first homicide of 2023
ANTIOCH — A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a Jan. 17 shooting on Sycamore Drive, the city’s first homicide of the year.
Corey Hill, of Antioch, was charged Wednesday with murder in the death of Emani Flenoid, 25, of Pittsburg. The charge carries a gun enhancement that will add time to Hill’s sentence if he’s convicted.around 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 17 outside a liquor store on the 1100 block of Sycamore Drive. Police say he and Hill argued in the parking lot before Hill allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Flenoid. Police haven’t said what the argument was about.
Hill was arrested Feb. 8 but kept in jail on a probation hold for a week, while detectives continued to investigate. Police brought their case to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s office on Wednesday. Hill remains in county jail in lieu of $1 million bail. His first court date has not yet been set.
