Jobs will continue to go begging
The unemployment rate in the Quinte region dropped significantly in April.
According to Statistics Canada the unemployment rate in the Belleville-Quinte West Census Metropolitan Area was just 4.1% last month.Recently a local employment professional said such low rates of unemployment meant the region was statistically at full employment even though many companies are looking for workers.
The Belleville-Quinte West Census Metropolitan Area consists of Belleville, Quinte West, Stirling-Rawdon, and Tyendinaga/Deseronto. Meanwhile, the Ontario unemployment rate was 4.9%, down a little from March’s 5.1% while the national rate was unchanged at 5%.
