The Dallas Morning News Charities wrapped up its annual fundraising campaign with more than $1.2 million in donations that will benefit 23 nonprofits...
Nicole Bursey, executive director at Frisco Family Services, said that donations have been critical for the nonprofit.
“We also had the ability to distribute more than 500,000 meals,” she said. “And we’re only able to really do that because of generous support.” Funds from The Dallas Morning News Charities go toward the agency’s overnight warming centers, various types of food and financial assistance, and backpacks filled with food for thousands of children during the school year, Jackson said.“I understand compassion fatigue, and it’s been a really long, difficult two years, but please continue to give,” Jackson said.
