Playboy model, goldigger and reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith was a “manipulative, egotistical monster”, a new documentary reveals.
Smith was born Vickie Lynn Hogan in the podunk town of Mexia, Texas, about half-way between Dallas and Houston, population 7,000. Her mother was a cop.
Her late mother Virgie said: “She loved being the centre of attention. We would go to the mall and there would be 50 men and boys walking behind us.”Smith got hitched to Billy Wayne Smith, 16, when she was 17. It didn’t last and she fled after the couple’s son Daniel was born in 1986.Next stop was a Houston strip joint, flooded with oil money and where dancers could make a serious bank from the hundreds of dollars stuffed into their G-strings.
Missy added: “Nobody needed to give her any pointers on how to attract a man. She knew what she was doing. Right off the bat, she was making a lot of money.“She told me she was going to be a famous model. She was convinced the only thing holding her back was her boobs.”One person who caught her eye at the strip joint was a billionaire oil tycoon named J. Howard Marshall. He was 89; Smith was 24. They married in 1994.
“You’re watching this person that you love morph into this egotistical monster, a full-blown drug addict. My friend that loved me wasn’t there anymore. There was no compassion. So I quit. We were done.”Article content
