Update: Daniel Volland increased his lead over second-place candidate Stephanie Taylor with the second release of ballot counts Wednesday afternoon. An additional 403 ballots were counted.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Daniel Volland currently leads the race for a new Anchorage Assembly member as the second round ofVolland received 1,632 votes — 326 votes more than current second-place candidate Stephanie Taylor. Volland’s vote total gives him a cushion of nearly eight percentage points over Taylor.Tasha Hotch is currently in third with 691 votes, followed by Robin Phillips with 240. Rob Forbes received 170 votes and Cliff Baker received 134.

The municipality reported 4,204 total ballots received, 18 of which are listed as unresolved write-in votes. An additional 403 votes were counted between the initial release of ballot counts Tuesday night and the second release on Wednesday afternoon.
