That comment was met with near-unanimous condemnation at the time, and it continues to be referenced by the president’s critics. Most recently, former vice president Joe Biden cited Trump’s comments in his campaign launch video as evidence the president was unfit for office. President Trump on Charlottesville: "I've answered that question and if you look at what I said you will see that that question was answered perfectly, and I was talking about people that went because they felt very strongly about the monument to Robert E.
