The first stage seemed to perform very well overall and there are plenty of positive take-aways, said Paul Delaney, Professor Emeritus of York University’s Faculty of Science. Thursday’s failed launch was a big step forward in making the systems work safely, said Delaney, who emphasized that the valuable lessons based on the data analysis will be useful to engineers.
“SpaceX currently seems to be billing this launch as a successful failure,” said Lawrence Faria, co-coordinator at Queen’s University Observatory, which seems to be the company’s general process.
