Ana de Armas gets imagined as DC's supervillain Poison Ivy in astonishing fan art, which positions her to take on the role in the new DCU.

New stunning DC Universe fan art makes the case for Ana de Armas to become the next live-action Poison Ivy, taking on the role in the new DCU. James Gunn and Peter Safran have recently announced the first ten projects in Chapter One of the DC Universe, and Poison Ivy was nowhere to be found. However, a couple of projects on DC's slate have given clues that Ivy could very well be on the way for her DC Universe debut in the coming years, and new fan art pictures de Armas in the role.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Digital artist horrific.heroics shared on Instagram beautiful concept art of de Armas as the DCU's Poison Ivy. The latest live-action Poison Ivy was Batwoman's version, which saw the character debut in season 3. However, aside from a few appearances in different TV shows and animation in the past decade, Poison Ivy has still to return to the big screen, as her last movie appearance was in the 1997 film, Batman & Robin — portrayed by Uma Thurman.

There were a couple of different projects in the DC Universe's upcoming slate that give clues as to how Poison Ivy could appear later on. Gunn revealed that projects related to his The Suicide Squad movie are happening, namely John Cena's Peacemaker season 2 and the newly announced series Waller, which follows Viola Davis' Amanda Waller and features members from team Peacemaker.

Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is one of the most beloved characters in DC's live-action history, and given her lead role in Gunn's The Suicide Squad — and how actors from that movie are continuing in the DCU — it is expected that the actress will be part of the new DC Universe. Birds of Prey showed Robbie's Harley forgetting the Joker and leaving her free for the fan-favorite comic book relationship between Harley and Ivy.
