Ana de Armas gave a clever take on Marilyn Monroe’s most signature wardrobe staples.
Ana de Armas made her first appearance this morning at the Venice Film Festival, where she will be promoting the new Andrew Dominik-directed film,Given that de Armas portrays the iconic Marilyn Monroe in the film, it was only fitting that she choose a glamorous outfit for her first stop on the press tour. Arriving on one of those signature wooden speed boats, the actor wore a blue short-suit by Louis Vuitton, complete with golden nautical buttons and black strappy Gianvito Rossi heels.
Monroe, who dominated Hollywood screens during the 1950s, had a penchant for wearing pinup-style high-waisted short-shorts and swimsuit bottoms. Archival images of the starlet showcase her wearing the piece in a variety of promotional images, either with T-shirts, bikini tops, or vampy corsets.
