Say an unofficial goodbye to summer at a “Fireworks Celebration” and concert on Labor Day weekend at the Palmdale Amphitheater.
Fireworks fill the sky during the Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley’s “Star-Spangled Rock ‘N Country Jam and Fireworks Celebration” on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Summer ends officially on Sept. 22, but the three-day weekend for the Labor Day holiday is often seen as a last hurrah for carefree outdoor summer public events.
The cities of Lancaster and Palmdale have planned a spectacular “Fireworks Celebration” and concert on Sept. 3 at the Palmdale Amphitheater. Even though the event may be perceived as a makeup July 4 event — due to the cancellation of the high desert cities’ planned “4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza” event at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds — the September show is a separate planned event.
The band Platinum Groove takes the stage at 6 p.m. to perform dance, oldies, pop and rock hits. The fireworks show, coordinated with a variety of music, follows the concert.Seating: Bring a blanket of low-back chair. Food and beverages: No outside food, coolers, alcohol, pets, canopies, fireworks allowed. Food concessions will be on-site. Factory-sealed water bottles are allowed.Parking: On-site parking is limited. Carpooling or alternate transportation advised.
