An amusement arcade worker who groped a schoolgirl and left her terrified and sobbing was branded an "unrepentant paedophile" by a judge.
"When their money ran out, the defendant attempted to convince her to stay there by saying 'you've got more time', the implication being he'd added more money to the game" Mr Steele said the girl was shocked, uncomfortable and did not know what to do as the man continued to put his arm around her. In a victim impact statement, the girl said she felt "traumatised and frozen in fear" by Hayes' actions. She said she has spent nights sobbing bed as a result and is now too anxious to go out with her friends and is conscious of how she dresses for fear of what may happen to her. The girl said she no longer feels able to trust men and does not feel like her outgoing self any more.
