The change in the U.S. and certain other markets is expected to start in early 2024. Amazon will also roll out a higher price plan with no ads.
, Amazon said it will begin showing ads in the U.S., U.K., Germany and Canada early in the year, and in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Australia later in 2024.
The company said it"aims to have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers," and that it's introducing ads so that can continue investing in content and increasing that investment.
