The last weekend of August will be wet for the Maritimes, parts of N.L.Keeping up with the trend this summer, it will be a wet weekend for most.
This will spread eastward across Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick through Saturday, lingering over eastern regions on Sunday. A general 10 to 30 mm of rain is forecast, but areas of 40 to 80 mm are likely over most of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and southern New Brunswick, with local amounts of 80 to 120-plus mm possible from the heaviest downpours associated with thunderstorms.
I'm also continuing to closely monitor tropical storm Franklin, spinning northeast of Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean.
