Allen reappoints municipal judge, city physician
Judge Cynthia Porter Gore as the city’s municipal court judge. Michelle Montemayor and Donald McDermitt were reappointed as alternate judges and Terri Daniel was appointed as a new third alternate judge for Allen Municipal Court.Council members also reappointed Dr. Kevin Hoffman as the health authority for the city. Hoffman has served as the city of Allen’s health authority since September 2020.
A physician appointed to this position, in accordance with Texas Health and Safety Code, will serve a two-year term to administer public health state and local laws for the municipality.. Susan McFarland is a longtime journalist in DFW who previously worked as a city government/crime beat reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and a breaking news reporter for United Press International. She has also worked for The Corpus Christi Caller-Times and The Kerrville Daily Times.
