A four-time All-American claims she and other female fencers were subjected to harassment.
WILLIAMSPORT – A four-time All-American and Olympic hopeful has used an amended federal court complaint to present what she claims is the “dark side” of the fencing program at Penn State and its suspended coach.
She contends Penn State’s athletic directors and administrators were aware of the veteran coach’s conduct but did nothing because his prestige, influence and connections were more important than protecting its athletes., finding her allegations of Title IX violations were too vague. He gave her the opportunity to cure the defects in an amended complaint. The university, which also is a defendant, does not comment on pending litigation.
She was in constant fear her scholarship would be taken away and lived in fear of Glon, the court complaint claims.Forcing her to train instead of seeking medical attention for a possible concussion. Prohibiting her from seeing team trainers who doctors said should monitor the condition of a leg if she competed because she could incur permanent nerve damage.
From 1998 through 2011, the university knowingly tolerated a pattern of sexual abuse by Sandusky, she contends.
