The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise includes five TV series, and they can easily be ranked by their overall level of quality. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies tend to command most attention, but TMNT has become a massive multimedia franchise, but it wasn't always so prevalent. Beginning as a parody of Marvel's Daredevil comic book series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles became a huge success, sprouting a line of toy figures based on the comics.
Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation lasted only one season consisting of 26 episodes thanks to its lackluster performance with fans. Part of the show's struggles likely stem from its inability to include the same type of action sequences in a live-action format. This series was originally aired in 1997, so it did not have the advantage of modern special effects to help it look good.
Although the show was canceled in 2020, it did receive a sequel film in 2022 titled Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie. This series was designed by Nickelodeon for a younger audience, causing it to remove some of the darker more mature themes. This makes the series less entertaining for adults, which hurts its overall quality. However, the shoe performed moderately well, and as far as kids' cartoons go, it's not bad.
