The Leeds schools shut today because of the teacherstrike
Across Leeds, a number of schools will be closing their doors to students as teachers go on strike amid a dispute over pay.
Members of the National Education Union voted overwhelmingly for strike action after rejecting a five per cent pay increase offer from the government. Instead, the NEU is demanding an above inflation pay rise for all of its members. With industrial action now taking place, some schools in Leeds will now face either closures or partial closures. Schools should have been in direct contact with parents to tell them exactly what they are doing.Here are the dates schools will be on strike across Leeds and Yorkshire:
