Wendy Duan, 28, was pronounced dead late Saturday after police found her in the back yard of a home in the 1100 block of Oxford Mills Lane, in New Territory, Adolph said. Police responded around 9:50 p.m. to the scene after neighbors called to report hearing gunshots.Investigators have identified a man in connection with Duan’s death, but have not yet released his identity.
Duan lived alone at the address and no one else was there when officers arrived, Adolph said. Investigators believe the shooting was an apparent case of domestic violence. Duan was listed as a teacher at the district’s Boone Elementary School. Social media profiles listed under the woman’s name show pictures of her attending events with other teachers and discussing Alief ISD.
