"Six Feet Apart" discusses how tough it can be to do this — even though it's vital — right from the first few lines of the song. "They say distance is relative and relative to relatives I have/I'd say I'm relatively close to breaking down/Because right now I feel so alone," he sings.
The chorus of "Six Feet Apart" is the most emotionally-charged, as Alec's lyrics touch on the nuanced complications of what it means to keep your distance from someone you love for the greater good of it all, even when you want to do something as seemingly small as hug them.
I don't want to get too presumptuous here, but listening to "Six Feet Apart" is definitely making me feel a little less lonely and very much understood during this complicated time in our lives.
