Alcoa Corp. AA, +1.72% said Monday it has named William F. Oplinger as chief executive, replacing Roy C. Harvey who will become strategic adviser to the CEO until Dec. 31.
The 56-year old Oplinger has served as Alcoa’s chief operations officer since February and was chief financial officer from November of 2016 to February of this year. Harvey was CEO from November 2015 and became president in May of 2017. Alcoa’s stock was down 1.1% premarket and has fallen 38% in the year to date, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.23% has gained 12.5%.
