UPDATED: The state health department has reported the first two pediatric deaths in the state of Alaska that have been related to COVID-19. Both were infants less than 12 months old, from the Southcentral region.

In Wednesday’s virtual presentation, Zink also said that the first two cases of the B.A. 2 variant had been detected in the state, though the omicron variant remains the most prevalent.
