The college district’s board voted unanimously and without discussion to expand the program.

Their school became an early participant in Alamo Promise, the cost-free degree program launched that year by the Alamo Colleges.The Alamo Colleges will expand its offer of a cost-free community college education to graduates of 73 high schools in Bexar County, up from 47 currently participating schools.
It is expected to cost an additional $2.7 million starting in fiscal year 2024. The increased cost could reach $4.7 million in 2025 and $6.24 million in 2026.
