After his retirement, Alabama Power President, Chairman and CEO Mark Crosswhite will continue on as a consultant with the company until June 2023, earning “$125,000 in cash for his consulting services during this period.”

A Form 8-K filing made by Alabama Power’s parent group The Southern Company, states that Crosswhite “notified Alabama Power of his intention to retire. The effective date of the retirement is expected to be December 31, 2022.”

After his retirement, Crosswhite will continue on as a consultant with the company until June 2023, earning “$125,000 in cash for his consulting services during this period.” Alabama Power confirmed Crosswhite’s impending retirement in a news release sent Monday morning. The company says Crosswhite’s successor will be named at a later date.

“Having the privilege of leading Alabama Power has been the high point of my career,” Crosswhite said in the news release. “It has been an honor working for a company that for more than a century has been dedicated to serving communities across Alabama. As I approach my 60th birthday, though, I have come to realize it is time for me to spend more time with my family.
