President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House on Sunday, July 21, ending his bid for reelection following a disastrous debate with Donald Trump that raised doubts about his fitness for office just four months before the election.

Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin, responding on social media platform X, quickly threw his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris, saying “Let’s get to work!”:Thank you President Joe Biden for your leadership and public service. You leave an indelible mark of progress as one of the most consequential leaders and patriots in our nation’s history. 🇺🇸is a real American hero and should be treated as such.

“I am so proud to serve under his leadership, and thankful for his unwavering focus on what is best for our country,” Buttigieg said on X. President Biden is a great public servant who knows better than anyone what it takes to defeat Donald Trump.
