The sheriff’s office said it anticipates filing additional charges after forensic analysis of the suspect’s electronic devices.
The Dale County Sheriff’s Office says an Ozark man has been arrested and charged with rape and sexual abuse of a child under 12 after a tip from law enforcement in Florida.
The Sheriff’s Office said the Tallahassee Police Department informed them Friday that an “undercover operation involving electronic solicitation of children” had identified an individual in Ozark as someone soliciting sexual contact from children while unknowingly communicating with an undercover officer.
The Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on the suspect’s address and conducted interviews. The investigation led them to charge Jeremy Morris with first-degree rape, two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12, and two counts of sodomy. The Dale County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Tallahassee Police Department, Ozark Police Department, SBI and the Dale County District Attorney’s Office in the case.
