The Crimson Tide learned its future conference opponents, including Oklahoma and Texas, on Monday afternoon.
2024-25 schedule got one step closer to being fully realized. On Monday, the Southeastern Conference revealed each team’s league home and road opponents for the upcoming year.
The Crimson Tide retained historic matchups and learned it will welcome SEC newcomers Texas on the road and Oklahoma inside Coleman Coliseum. Arkansas and John Calipari won’t be coming to Tuscaloosa, but new Vanderbilt coach Mark Byington will. As the conference has shaken up the way it crafts its league schedule due to league expansion, each team has two “permanent” opponents it will play each season and a rotating third rival. Under a 14-team format, Alabama had three “permanent” games between Auburn, Mississippi State and LSU.
Alabama finished fifth in the conference last season. It posted a 13-5 record, tied with Auburn, South Carolina and Kentucky for the second-most wins. But UA faltered against Tennessee and the Wildcats on the road, giving other teams a tiebreaker advantage. Alabama’s late-season slump didn’t hinder a run to the Final Four, however.
The Tide has won two regular-season and two tournament SEC titles under Nate Oats in five seasons.
